This world is changing so much, you blink and someone is a different trend! I don't understand it. Why can't we just ignore the television and magazines for one day and be ourselves. No, I think that would be too much of a hassle for some people. I think "minding your own business" would also be too much of a hassle for 90% of this world. Who gives anyone the right to tell me what to think, what to wear, and whom to be friends with = no one! and the next person that says "I'm here for you" I'm going to beat you and your mother up in my j's! -Roar-
never again will I wear words with name brands on them. I went to walmart today and I just happened to wear an Old Navy shirt for once in my lifetime. It was comfortable, so I wore it! A woman came up to me and said "like, omg, your shirt is SO cute" being quite of frightened I politely and quietly said "thank you" and turned my face to the ground. She stands there for a moment and asks "Where'd you get it?" ....... I walk away [never again]
-how to tell you are having a good day- when you have drank 3 iced cappuccinos and watched something about Metallica on the television every hour, all before 5:00pm! Yes!
-Things that piss me off for today- girls who change boyfriends more than I change underwear. socks with holes in them. rap music. people who make fun of me. chairs without a built in cooler and cookie maker. taco bell. breaking your toes. not being able to tie your shoes. screaming. crying. complaining. basketball. cell phones. glasses. and finally, bananas!
-bOwLiNg fOr CoLuMbiNe- go rent it, now!

is the world fair? is it fair that people dont do as much as they should? is it fair that perhaps your poor but ur best friend is rich? is anythign really fair? when someones born and someone dies is that fair? do you think anyone really wonders that if that baby had been delayed for one family another family would of been able to spend more time wiht a grandparent, parent, uncle, son, daughter, niece, nephew, ect..?is it fair that if you cut your foot and get a horible infection that u have to have your foot cut off or you die? is it fair when you want one thing and get something else? should u really settle for something you dont want? when you go into a store and say i need a white shirt but only can find black ones and settle for it, is that fair? people take what they dont need and never use it. is it fair that people steal, break into peoples houses and get away with it..even murder..rape...any sort of crime? maybe the burguler is thinking well theyre rich they'll buy more, or they didnt need. maybe the people will never notice that it was missing, theyre so caught up in their "lovely lives" that nothing can touch them. why is it that if a homeless man/woman stopped someone on the street and asked them for help a large percentage of the time they would shrug their shoulders saying what can i do for you and walk away. is that fair? if someone actually stopped to help that man/woman maybe they wouldnt be dead today. if everyone says i cant help the world but someone else can, theyre lying to themselves and to others. i think its just horrible for people to instill beliefs into their children, never giving their children a fighting chance. they'll never think on their own and if they do what kind of beliefs will they pass onto their children. everyone does it without notice..when people say its up to other people in the world to help others its not. if everyones said that, theyre would be a world of people who accomplished nothing in life. truly something i mean. not like yea they got a good job and married someone they kind of liked had children only to hate hte person later on wishing it had never happened but at the same time gave life to those children who were born who now it has effected. who now they have to deal with this. if its one persons buisness its their buissness its not everyone elses, why should the world be informed of what you did or didnt do, why should someone dare to look at u and think your a slut when then know theyre doing the same thing but eveyone else hasnt found out yet. is it fair that a mother or parent feed a child to obesity but doesnt understand whats wrong? is it fair that,`that child now has to go out into the world discusted with themselves, they may not, they may be happy and truly satisfied with themselvs, others may think how but its them not u or u or u them, people have a hard time understand that, that its not u its them if theyre comfortable with their weight why arent u also, why do you say to them u need to lose weight only to put them down. why? why? so many questions but not enough answers.
also is anyone truly happy, many people think yea im happy but theyres a difference, theyres happiness and then theyres true happiness. many may think thats what they have but i think true happiness only happens to some people.. the people who it belongs to. if you grow up on the streets and become wealthy and have everything you ever dreamed of but live in a small house because u will not be gready and u understand the meanning of money, i think some of those people are truly happy. the people i think the most happiest(word i dk) are children. they are happy with anything and everything, never arguing. you could buy them the cuties shoes for their birthday and put it in a nicely wraped box, but theyll pay more attention to the box rather then the shoes that just put u out 50 bucks. should u of known better? i mean it was only a baby, it wasnt a needed item. they dont need a 100 dollar sundress when going to the beach or go outside to play, they'll get it dirty and they dont give a fuck. they could care fucken less, theyre just happy, they just want to get their hands into the sand, the dirt, the water, the grass, anything that makes their play more enjoyable. they dont know the meaning of well honey mommy and daddy are going to be living seprate. why? they'll ask can anyone tell a child that theyre parents hate one another and if they spend one more day together they may just kill eachother leaving u in a foster home? ive heard a lot of people express that fat people are happier. is that true. i mean are they happier because theyre not watching the pounds, theyre just enjoying life, that they dont want to be the super models who barely eat theyre pail and frail. that theyre happy with not shoving a serenge full of heroin under their fingernails to hide the marks. are they happy not worrying about if they could die tomorrow because theyve eaten to many big macs from McDonals. people actually have the nerve to sue McDonalds because they make their food too tastey and thats causing them to gain weight. its not the fact that u dont eat healthy, and that u dont exersize and that somehow u end up being the victim, if you wanted to lose weight u could, if you wanted to be skinny and eat McDonalds every day its possible. why is it that everything that happens to someone is someone elses fault? why no it could never be urs even thou u shot the person dead on the fucking cold ground, that no its their fault they were trespassing on ur property but later you find out, they were only asking for a cup of sugar to make a cake for their sick daughter in the hospital who need a heart transplant and probably wont get it so their making their life a living hell only to try and make someone else happy for the day or possible hours that they'll be alive. when people call people names or spread rumours are they thinking wow i could actually be hurting this person, that maybe im making their self esteem so low that they may go home tonight and kill themselves. does anyone ever think that..sadly enought not enough people do. not enough people will ponder about the things that i have just written, and its sad, if only people did the world would be so much better, people will end up hurting eachother. just like i hate it when people throw around the word love, when they dont truly love the person. every boyfriend or girlfriend that comes along...yea i love them...but ur just kidding urself..if you take love so lightly that u think that u love every person your with, your shitting urself. who knows if they ever experience love. many people say yea i love him right before they get married but in their gut theyre thinking i dont even know what love is. how the hell can i judge what love is and what is not. and i am not saying i understand any of the things that i have just written about this is just a personal opinion and a perspective of life that i have gotten. is it fair that a girl who goes out with a lot of guys but never does ne thing with them get the rep of being a slut. is it fair that some people die before being born and other life to a 100. is it fair that some people get a disease leaving them mentaly retarded or something just as horrible? no nothings fair. lifes not fair. people wonder why they cant change the past, because thats the way it is. if you changed the past u wouldnt be who u are today, if u changed the past maybe ull never meet your husband or wife, maybe ull die instead of someone else. people who want to go back are looking for something to help them heal. just close ur eyes, thats how u heal. dreams i believe enlighten people. they show u so many possibilities. and people think well its just a dream, yea sure but u wanting to cure cancer or become the pres. is just a dream to. what seperates them, theyre both in ur head, but when ur dreaming when ur asleep ur happy, havent u ever had a great dream and wake up smiling, those are what mornings should be like. when u see the sun rise and think wow this is just perfect. and end the sentence there not saying gee i wish bob or maryann could be here. just end it with wow this is perfet. i think ive written enough for even i to ponder about. but think if u did one thing different, helped one more person what a difference. just like in the movie "Pay It Foward" help 3 people and make those three people each help 3 people and ect. the world we would have if we did. im not perfect no one is, these are just my thoughts. impurities are what make up the world no one is perfect and no one can be perfect, thats what makes life perfect. so be happy that u didnt die in ur sleep last night. that u havent died yet, be happy that uve had the opportunity to do what uve already dont in life that other may not of been. be happy. or at least try to be, u may not be truly happy but its a start. starts are what get the world running. dont change for others be what u r and ull be happy.

Discrimination

Some people say racism, sexism, or stereotyping are some of the worst things man has ever done to himself, but in some ways the worst is handedism.
Most people don't even think about it, it seems harmless enough. They just use a different hand, whats so different about that? But the fact remains that left handers suffer terribly in this right handed world.
Sure we get jobs, health care, etc. just like everybody else, but often times we can't use the things that everybody else may take for granted. School desks, keyboards, and carrot peelers are just some of those things.
So what makes this any worse then any other kind of discrimination? Well, for starters no one ever thinks about us lefties. We don't have alot of publicity like sexism or racism do. As a result most businesses aren't even aware of the special difficulties that left handed people may face, which can certinly be imposing.
Even the government discriminates against us, which would certinly cause a huge ruckus if it were any other kind of discrimination, but somehow handedism just gets swept under the rug.
And thats not to mention the terrible psythological and educational problems faced. This Wednesday August 13 is International Left Handers Day, please take a moment to reflect upon the terrible injustice of handedism, write your government representitive, or visit a left handed website and learn more about the issue.

The Root of Corruption of America's Government

I have slowly come to the conclusion that the politicians in charge of the U.S. have their priorities turned fairly upside down.
There's a corny, yet TRUE saying that claims: "Children are the future of our country." OK? Does anyone see "terrorists" in that sentence? Does anyone think about the media or big businesses or monopolies when they think about the children of America? It baffles me that our government REFUSES to see that if they want to create change, you gotta get 'um when they's young.
This school year, the schools in Oregon had to SHUT DOWN weeks early because they "ran out of money." Students missed final exams: their futures were on the line, and then kaput.
Gun control? The war on drugs? The war on poverty? Trying to instill good values?
Nope, nope and nope. All the big old boys up on top want to take it from the top down, and make sure they're rolling in the votes and the bucks while they're at it. "Make laws to 'solve' the problems, don't bother to make a REAL difference..." and give some sorely needed attention to the country's youth. There are too few politicians in high places that actually care about the people of this country enough to protect them from their own ignorance, not from some half-imagined terrorist threat or the failure of corporations.
How did excess money come to be so much more important than the soul-health of the citizens?
How do y'all feel about the state of our government today, fellow Earth citizens?

Oh. These little earthquakes. I go from feeling like I own this town, to thinking that I don't know anything. That everybody loves me and no one gives a shit about me. I know I have to do for me, but have faith that the universe will take care of me. Are we not ALL made from the sea and stars?
It escapes me how I can feel so deep, peeling layer after layer off of my life, and at the same time, care how good my arms look after hitting the gym.
Everything to figure out and not being able to do so. At least not to my satisfaction.
Look into Julian Christopher's eyes and tell me there isn't beauty and love in the world. I dare ya ;-)

WHAT'S GOING ON ABOUT IRAQ WAR
(view

|
I'm writting to you from Spain. I believe the U.S.A. is a democratic country and that the american people, above all, believe in defending and protecting human rights. So I would appreciate it for you all to continue reading this humble message from an ordinary person and reflect on the Iraq war and what is really going on all over the world these days. It is true that our President, Jose María Aznar, is supportting the war against Iraq, but against the wishes of 91% of Spanish population. Although we all condemn the horrible terrorist strike that you suffered on September 11th, we are against what we strongly believe is an illegal strike on the sovreign nation of Iraq, because of many reasons the principal ones being: 1.- We know there is no link between Al Qaeda and Iraq, and even less between Al Qaeda and the civilian people who are right now dying in that country as we every day can watch on T.V. and newspapers, including children, women and ¡babies! The proof and evidence that your State Secretary, Collin Powell presented to U.N.O. were false as himself admitted a few days after. Anyway, we do believe that this war is not the way to manage the end of international terrorism, and we are in the conviction that this war will only bring on us all worse effects. 2.- About the hypothetic Iraq's weapons of mass destruction: There are many countries which do posses these types of weapons and for many many years too, and nobody ever has attacked them. Anyway at this time Iraq has not used its so-called weapons of mass destruction. And, most of all, I really believe that the war can be a great pretext for other countries to get these types of weapons, so the world will be an increasingly unsafe place. 3.- I our opinion U.S.A. and United Kingdom, with our President's support, have violated international legality, and broken the purpose of U.N.O. because there is no a resolution which authorizes or which approve the strike to Iraq. And further more it is against the UN Charter. These are some of the reasons, but the most important one is that a lot of people are dying in Iraq: by now more than 1.250 civilians (children included) and your soldiers too. Saddam Hussein is a monster, yes, he is a terrible dictator, but it doesn’t justify the strike to Iraq and all these deaths. Also I think the U.S. people is not being informed about the war's consequences, because the self-censorship of T.V. and other media. So I ask you to find out by yourself about what is happening right now in Iraq. You can visit some Spanish web sites ( noalaguerra, Culture, Elpais, Elmundo, Cadenaser) and get real information about the war. I also warn you that the next links contains war pictures that can wound your sensibility because of its harshness and reality. IF YOU ARE UNDER AGE: ¡DON'T CLICK!, otherway you are free to click under your own responsability. PicturesMorepicturesI am gratefull for your time in reading this and I hope you reflect about the war against Iraq and you will demand your government to stop this war. You can send this message to all your friends if you want them to be really free to find out real information about Iraq war.

Ooooh! She dun got a whippin'!
(view

Ever get a whippin'? Last night something triggered a memory of me getting a whippin' by my aunt when I was 7 years old. It was group beating, and when my turn came up I took off running in circles, this prevented the 4ftlong strap of worn leather she kept for such occasions from catching my little naked legs and setting them on fire. Something amuses me about whippin's. I think its one of those southern privileges that you are entitled to at least once in your life. Here it is tradition to beat some common sense into your children then tell them it was all for love. I've never known a child to get a whippin' and thank their mothers and fathers for giving it to them.
Tell me if you agree with the following: there are different breeds of children, all who react differently to such a harsh punishment.
The Brave One: The brave child knows he or she will be receiving a whippin' as soon as they do something wrong. Or, often times, they've done nothing at all and can not explain their innocence. Maybe they are being kind to a younger sibling and taking the blame. In any case, the brave one won't shed a tear at the idea of their flesh being licked by a switch. They will stand still and take it without crying out loud or running away. If they do shed a tear, its as silent as a church mouse. I admired such children, usually after I caught my breath from laughing so hard at them.
The Screamer: The screamer cries before they are even hit. Most will suck in their breath and move their hands back to catch the blow, only to be hit and scream as if they were being murdered. Screamers are annoying. They also don't realize that with some parents, the screaming only arouses them even more, thus the beating goes on longer than it would have in the beginning. Many find the screamer hilarious, during group whippin's, the louder a screamer screams the harder it becomes to hold in the laughter.
The Runner: I was a runner often. The runner will appear calm, cool, and collected as the parent approaches. He or she will wait for the perfect opportunity to take off, usually just as the hand is being raised back to deliver the blow. If a runner is lucky, they have time to slide under a bed or hide in a closet before the parent can catch them. This means that the beating they will receive later will be doubly harsh. Some runner never get away, but are held by the arm and whipped while they pull and jerk to get away. In this case, the runner can pull a parent across the room. If there ever was a case of superhuman strength overwhelming a small body, this would be it.
The Pouter: These kids are cute enough to simply pout and avoid such horrors. Lucky bastards.
The Catcher: The catcher simply catches every blow directed at them. This is easier if it is a belt, shoe, hand, etc.... Never have I seen a catcher successfully catch a switch, it hurts to much. Usually, catching the instrument used to beat you into a crying fit means double the whipping time, but if most of the blows are caught the catcher would walk away with just a sore hand instead of a sore ass.
I'm sure there are more breeds to this species. I was all of these except a catcher, far too sensitive to catch a switch, which was often used on me, three at a time if I was especially bad.

The Murder of Morality; Defining the morality and destruction of the self

The Definition of the self states that it is the individuality, personality or essence of a being, also relating to one's own interests or pleasure. Derived from the word "self" we get many different variations of the word such as self rightoeus, self restraint, self deception, etc. All of which characterize and can be applied to an individual or throng. They also characterize behavioral tendancies that pertain to the depletion of one's self esteem. As part of the destruction of a person's mental portrayal of themselves, an individual may seek happiness or enlightenment through forsaken or immoral means. To what degree should a person's self be more important than another human life? What happens when someone's pleasure means another's destruction? Furthermore, can evil be innate?

I am neither ashamed nor proud of my porn collection. It's not something I need to share with my mom or anything, but it's there when I need it to be.
The reason I bring this up, so to speak, is cuz last night I went out with a recently married couple and they had had a minor disagreement earlier about him getting rid of his pre-marital porn collection. Obviously, she was pro tossing it out. I experienced the same thing with an ex of mine who wanted me to get rid of my porn. My question is "Why"?. Perhaps one might think that in-house sex is available, you don't need the porn for masturbatory purposes, but now and then, you gotta take care of business and he or she ain't around, ya know? At least I wasn't out cruising or in a chat room trying to get some dude to come over and satisfy me.
Perhaps, someone could shed some light on this dirty little subject...
The attached pic is of my favorite porn star. It's not graphic. But who wouldn't want to see this guy getting it on.

In a Brilliant Way?

Miles Davis, while not solely responsible for the concept of fusion, was one of the more significant pioneers in this area. During the sixties, Miles felt that the cool sound of his quintet was rapidly becoming antiquated and instead turned his attention to the work of fresh new musicians such as Hendrix and James Brown (one of his personal favorites). Rather than relying on complex chord progressions filled with intricate melodies and counter-melodies, Miles was drawn to the idea of a solid, steady bass line and an infectious, consistent groove as being the foundation for his music. He not only one-upped this standard, he went several steps further by graduating from what most people expect from *any* style of music. He abandoned verses, bridges, choruses, melodies and even key signatures replacing them with ambient or chaotic grooves comprised of new wave instrumentations including electric bass, electric piano (usually two or more simultaneously – e.g. Hancock and Corea), sitar, bass clarinet, funk-drenched guitar (rather than the usual clean tones associated with jazz), saxophone, percussion and drums. There are two schools of thought regarding Miles’ work during this area which parallel two very different types of listeners. First, we have the critics and their followers which expected Miles to uphold a stringent standard of jazz, the kind of music played for the “sophisticated” listener. This type of jazz is what most people associate the genre with e.g. Coltrane, Parker, Gillespie or Count Basey. The second type of listener is the pragmatic, albeit somewhat naïve, aficionado whose default assumption is that this work is avant-garde, simply because its different. These types may or may not have an understanding of music. Personally, I’m torn between “avant-garde” and “avant-garde with a hint of laziness.” While I can appreciate Miles’ approach, there are quite a few subtle mistakes and broken notes that most people try to pass off as art. Clever really, because without the usual components and the lack of a solid rhythm section or chord progression, these errors are harder to discern. Basically, I think that the music reflects Miles at the time – brilliant but lacking due to his heroine addiction. Was it genius? I think his concepts were but his implementation, in my opinion, doesn’t quite make the cut. Perhaps his true genius was surrounding himself with phenomenal talents. For a free sample of Miles work during this period, I present to you one of his bootlegs from November 7, 1973 at played Belgrade. This particular line-up consisted of Miles Davis on trumpet and organ (don’t expect Jimmy Smith); Dave Liebman on soprano, tenor saxophones and flute; Pete Cosey on guitar and percussion; Reggie Lucas on guitar; Michael Henderson on electric bass; Al Foster on drums and James Mtume Foreman on congas and percussion. The individual tracks are difficult to discern but they are as follows: Turnaroundphrase, Tune in 5, Turnaroundphrase (reprise) and Calypso Frelimo. I’d appreciate your opinions on this music. For other works during this era, I recommend Live-Evil, Bitches Brew, In a Silent Way, Black Beauty: Live at the Fillmore West, Dark Magus: Live at Carnegie Hall, and On The Corner. Ira

Question: Does one have a consistent self?

**************************************
Self: The awareness resulting from the evolution of a network of memories and the stratification of those most significant.
The self is comprised of a network of memories but this is irrelevant when discussing its integrity (not its constitution). The central element required is recall – which elements are the most relevant, thereby remaining within the vicinity of awareness? The elaborate and sophisticated evolution of the mind operates on a thought-by-thought basis. Stimuli immediately reconfigure cognitive cohesion upon perception.
The “I” is the perceptive factor in the equation of the self that perpetually functions. It observes dreams, thought processes, internal and external experiences etc. and reconfigures the self. Your “self” is a construct, a byproduct of the byproducts. Its components are the perception to stimuli as observed by the “I,” the stratification of significant memories (memories in the recall queue) and the impetus to further the acquiescence of the self.
i.e.
S (awareness) = P (perception to stimuli) + M (assimilated memories) + D (impetus - intellectual wanderlust)
e.g. Why would a person get married? To satiate an internal desire, a constructed necessity of your mind vis-à-vis external stimuli (society).
Regards,
Ira
