Has anyone of you heard of Voluntary Human Extinction Movement (VHEMT) ?

Personally, I'm a VHEMT Volunteer, and agree with its statements.

I have to say I agree with the idea that there are too damn many humans.

I live in the Seattle area, and a big issue here is transportation. Aside from a basic bus system, we have no public transportation. Traffic is awful. Most people blame the horrible traffic on not having a transportation and not enough people carpooling. Personally, I think it's just because there are TOO MANY HUMANS. I've already made up my mind never to make any babies, mostly because I can't stand kids, but I hope others see that overpopulation is a huge problem and it needs to be stopped.

You VHEMT people must really hate Mormons...

I first heard of the Society for Voluntary Human Extinction from my mother. I really havent read into it much I figure it's self explanetory. Baisically, don't breed. I agree with this entirely.
This Earth is a beautiful place,marred only by it's human inhabitants. Other animals have there place in the earths cycle.
Humans are not part of this cycle, when our cycle is complete there will be nothing left.
Besides the "Earth don't need us" view,
Humans are a miserable species. I know I have been miserable most of my life, my mother ,my sister,my partner and most of his family.
Most of us don't even know how to be happy or content. Even fun, the kind most people have. Going out partying,sounds like fun, but it only leads to more misery. Such as the Hangover or the one night stand(that leaves you pregnant or with some horrible disease). Ech!
The worst thing for me when I think about having children is the thought that no matter what I teach them, no matter how smart they are,they will grow up to be human. To share the misery of humanity.
They will join the rat race and do what all the other humans do, to get by ,to be happy.
Humanity what an awful creation, so full of greed and hate if those who had just shared alittle with those who don't have there would be less misery. If there were no very rich, there would be no very poor. If we could just agree to disagree there would be no war.
Religeon is the number one cause of war, so I guess that is gods method of population control? Those who don't believe(and aren't drafted), shall inherit the earth.
And I am not joking. I am truly sorry for all the people that die in war,the people that miss them. That is the ultimate price we pay for loving eachother is the misery and grief we feel when they are gone.

While I agre things are a bit dodgy here at times I don't think that is really the way to go about things. Just give me a Taser that also Causes Sterilization and let me travel around zapping people.

I much prefer the idea of responsible Eugenics than the outright extinction of humans. We didn't claw to the top of the food chain to decide it was a bad idea and then bug out (not that there is a slight possibility of that happening, at best you could remove all the sensitive people from the gene pool and that wouldn't be so great.)

The world is very obviously overpopulated, and we produce so much waste, as we poison ourselves. I have decided not to have children, they're not missing out on too much. Another site to look at - www.churchofeuthanasia.org
